London . . . March 5. Tuesday there was the greatest court
at St. James's that has been known for several years . . .
as it was the day kept for his Majesty's birth-day. . . [8
lines]
The ball at night was the most splendid that has been
known for many years. His majesty came into the ball-room
soon after nine o'clock, when the ball was opened by the
Prince of Wales, and Princess Augusta, the Duke of
Cumberland, and Prince Edward likewise danced minuets. The
royal family withdrew about twelve. And the ball ended soon
after.
