To be seen and heard, at the late play-house, in
Williamsburg, that elaborate and celebrated piece of
mechanism, call'd the Microcosm, or the World in Miniature;
[woodcut of piece, 9 lines high, 1/5 column wide]
which is now so well known that a description would be
needless, any more than it is the Microcosm, the most
instructive as well as entertaining piece now extant, and
ought to be seen by all degrees of people, &c.
Tickets to be had only at the Raleigh Tavern, and the
Printing-office at five shillings each, and for children
under ten years of age, at two shillings and six-pence each.
To begin at six o'clock every Monday, Wednesday, and
Friday; at which time, 'tis humbly hoped no person will take
it amiss if not admitted without a ticket.
Any select company (not less than five) that may be
desirous of seeing this piece in private, shall be obliged
on paying 7 s. 6 d. each, which entitles them to see the
internal parts of this machine in motion, so worthy the
notice of the curious, and upon what principle the whole is
performed,
N.b. All those that may be desirous to become subscribers,
a book will be open'd at the printing office for that
purpose, on the following condition.
The subscribers on signing their name in the book pay 15
s. which intitles them to see the Microcosm, both inside and
out, as often as they please with company, 'til the 31st of
this instant, which will positively be the last night.
