London, July 24 . . . It is very justly observed, by many
hundreds of the fair sex, as also by the gentlemen of the
several musical societies dispersed over England, that
Musick was never so much in vogue as at this time, which is
in no great measure attributed to that great and amiable
patroness, our most gracious Queen, who in a very masterly
manner plays on the organ, harpsichord, and piano forte;
which seems to have stirred up the youth of both sexes, nay
even grown persons, to attain this great and most agreeable
of all accomplishments.
