One day last week several of the scholars at Winchester
went, in a body, to a house in the town, after a person who
had offended them; upon which a battle ensued, . . . [3
lines]  The next day they sallied out again, and drew up in
the churchyard, when the alarm bell was rung for two nights,
to the great terrour of all the inhabitants; but, on prudent
methods being taken, every thing happily subsided.
