I have lately made a tour through several of the
neighbouring provinces, and find the sensible people in them
greatly displeased with the Virginians, for not adhering
more strictly to the articles of association for non
importation. . . .

Let no wrong headed statesmen induce you to yield;
Oppression oppose, servile measures detest!
Maintain with your lives what your father possess'd.
