London. . . A correspondent from Greenwich says, "On
Wednesday night there was a general illumination and
rejoicing here (not more than ten houses excepted) on
account of Mr. Wilkes's releasement from prison. . . . The
rejoicings were carried on with the greatest order and
decorum; the musicians of the town, together with some
gentlemen, composed a fine concert, when several select
pieces of musick were performed in our streets. After they
had played in the principal streets, for about an hour, they
retired to the Greyhound Inn, where an elegant entertainment
was provided. . . .
