"We lay on Wednesday at Woolwich, wind and tide bound for five hours; from whence the lord mayor and aldermen, in the Chatham, and his retinue in the trinity yacht, proceeded for Gravesend, where all arrived between ten and eleven. His lordship and his brethren met with the most respectful reception here, by the mayor, several aldermen, the ringing the bells, and illuminations. |
