London, January 22. Friday night, as a gentleman was going
through Lincoln's Inn, a fellow seized him by the collar and
dragged him into a corner, and presenting a pistol robbed
him of his money, watch, and great coat. . . The fellow was
not under the least timidity, but while he was pulling off
the coat repeated the words in the Beggar's Opera, A
Lawyer's an honest employment, so is mine; and then walked
gently off, humming the tune of Through all the employments
of life, &c.
