Citation | VGW(HU.773.093 24 Jun 1773:33 (1143) Ten Pounds Reward. Run away from the subscriber, about January last, a Negro man about forty years of age, a short thick fellow, very black, both ears cropped, has a brand on his tongue, . . . he can read and write tolerably, and is a good hewer, sawer, and fiddler. I expect he is somewhere about Norfolk, or the Great Bridge, in Virginia, and will endeavour to pass for a freeman. Hertford County, North Carolina, June 9, 1773. [signed] John Hare |
