London, September 7. On Saturday evening the news came to
Carshalton of Captain Scawen being safely arrived from
fighting the duel with Mr. Fitzgerald. The bells were
immediately rung upon the occasion, a bonefire was made of
300 bavins, and the whole village seemed to express great
joy.
