Birmingham, July 4. On Wednesday last, being St. Peter's
Day, the Female friendly Society of the city of Litchfield
held their annual festival. Near 100 young women, neatly
dressed in white, with shepherdesses crooks in their hands,
formed a most pleasing appearance, in their procession from
the Guildhall to the Cathedral Church. . . At their entering
the west door the organ played a grand march, while the
whole company seated themselves in the choir. . . [9 lines]
