London, July 28. Extract of a letter from James Monroe,
Esq; dated Paris, June 27, 1774.
Those of the reformed religion, of whom there are great
numbers in this city, are much alarmed, and taking measures
to secure their best effects and retire to Holland; for the
proceedings of the Archbishop, and the clergy of his
diocese, are very severe against them. If they are known to
sing psalms, or read the Scripture, they are immediately
