London, Oct 7. . . [4 sentences concerning Denmark's
restrictions on imports] Happy would it be for England if
the importation of foreign silks, stuffs, and other
commodities were prohibited, and we obliged to wear our own
manufactures, which would make trade flourish, and not so
many shops shut up; and if the importation of fidlers, and
singers, were prohibited, in all probability tradesmen would
be sooner paid, and the Italians, &c. would not have it in
their power to expose our follies abroad, as they have done
in many instances of late.
