Letters from Franckfort confirm the sudden death of the Duke
of Wirtemberg, with the following circumstances. The Duke
having taken leave of his Dutchess, and appointed her regent
of his dutchy, set out the same day for Philipsburg and Fort
Kehl; in the evening he arrived at Ludwigsburg, accompanied
with several lords and gentlemen. The next day being in
perfect health, and naturally of a very gay temper, he had a
concert of musick in his apartment, and after dinner sat
down to play; but about eight at night he retir'd, finding
an oppression at his stomach; his disorder increasing, he
was blooded, but received no benefit from it; when, on a
sudden, he cry'd out, Lord have mercy upon me, I am a dying,
and immediately dropt out of his chair; all possible
endeavours were us'd for his recovery, but to no purpose.
This Prince has left three sons and a Princess, all under
age.
