On Sunday last, Mr. Forster, Surveyor-General of the river,
seiz'd a considerable quantity of tea at Woolwich, hid under
some hoop-petticoats. The owners of those goods could be no
experienc'd smugglers, as is plain by their choice of so
improper a place for concealment, the custom-house officers
being generally remarkable for having a natural itch to
rummage under the petticoats.----For, some time since, a
custom-house officer being in the pit at the play-house,
went to put his hands up one of the orange wenches
petticoats, but the girl knew him, and cry'd out, how now,
Mr. Tidewaiter, there is nothing there but what has been
fairly enter'd.
