Vienna, July 5. O.S. The report we had four days ago, as
the post went off, of a compleat victory gain'd by the
imperial army in Hungary, had no other foundation than the
arrival of an express, with the particulars of the action on
the 23d ult. near Cornia. The Major General Count de
Konigsegg, preceeded by a post master and 2 post-boys
blowing their horns, arrived 2 days ago at the Palace of la
Favour, with the agreeable news that the Imperialists had
made themselves masters or the important post of Meadia; and
that the Turks afterwards raised the siege of Orsova.
. . . [A paragraph discussing the Garrison of Meadia.]
Next Sunday Te Deum will be sung in the Metropolitan
Church in this city, to give thanks to God for the advantage
which the Imperial Arms have obtain'd over the infidels in
Hungary.
