4 Jul 1777:32 (127 Supplement)
Albemarle, June 17, 1777. Brought by mistake from
Fredericksburg, some time last fall, an old black leather
trunk, much worn, marked W W on the outside, John Merriman
the trunk maker's name. Supposing it to be the property of
a lady just arrived from Philadelphia, it was broke open,
and found to contain the 4th, 5th, and 6th volumes of
Shakespear's works, a volume of plays with R. Newsum 1771
printed in red letters. . . [9 more lines listing
gentleman's clothing and other articles in the trunk plus
terms for return.] [signed] Thomas Walker, jun.
