William Wylie, clock and watchmaker, lately arrived in the
Theodorick, Capt. Hugh Wylie, from London, where he has
worked in some of the best shops, and for some of the most
eminent masters of the trade, both as finisher and repairer,
proposes to make and repair all kinds of plain, repeating,
horizontal, stop, and skeleton watches, and also all kinds
of repeating and musical clocks and time pieces. Those
ladies and gentlemen who will be pleased to favour him with
their commands, may depend upon being served expeditiously,
faithfully, and reasonably, by, their humble servant
[signed] William Wylie.
N.B. He is well furnished with all sorts of materials of
the best kind, for carrying on his business. He is now at
the Glebe, in Sussex county, where he will continue some
months. Watches left with any of the gentlemen merchants,
at Petersburg, Blandford, or Cabin Point, will come safe to
hand. He would desire the name of the owner of a watch may
be put in the outward case, to prevent mistakes. [signed]
