Thursday afternoon Mr. Wilkes gave a grand entertainment to several persons of distinction at his apartments in the King's-Bench prison; among other dainties and curiosities, a fine large swan, being five feet one inch in length, was served up at table; there was music playing all the time. At night the prison was illuminated, and the evening concluded with the utmost joy and festivity. |
