Here Fanny lies interr'd, ah why
Ye Gods, was Fanny born to die?
A female Fanny was, 'tis true, 
But yet no females arts she knew;
No visits she received, or paid, 
Or ever stroll'd to masquerade;
Court, opera, park, the play and ball, 
The prudent Fanny scorn'd them all;
. . . [19 lines]
Poor Fanny was a harmless fawn. [signed] Eliza
