[At end of an article of veiled personal criticism:]
If so, permit me to compare, your situation with Wolsey's;
and as you think it a merit, to quote Shakespear adroitly--
transfer to yourself, the following reflections:
I have venture'd,
Like little wanton boys, that swim on bladders,
--- in a sea of glory,
But far beyond my depths; my high blown pride
At length broke under me, and now has left me
- - - to the mercy
Of a rude stream, that must, forever, hide me.
