Forty dollars reward. Run away from the Reverend Mr.
Boucher's, in Prince George county, Maryland, the 4th of
October last, a convict servant named Samuel Carter, alias
Gasford, belonging to the subscriber in Stafford. He was
transported in the ship Thornton, to Rappahannock river,
last June, which, I am informed, he boasts is not the first
time of his having been transported to America. He is about
twenty three years of age, of the middle size, and wears his
own brown hair, which probably he may cut off, the better to
disguise himself. He rode off a small bay blooded horse, .
. . [4 lines, description of horse] The said fellow
likewise took with him a portmanteau containing some wearing
apparel of mine, and several suits of his own, particularly
a blue coat with a red cape, a waistcoat of the same, and a
wilton waistcoat and breeches; carried also with him a very
good German flute, which he plays very well on, and is very
fond of. Whoever will deliver the servant and horse to me,
or to Dr. Richard Brooke in Maryland, shall be entitled to
the above reward, or one half for either of them. [signed]
Clement Brooke.
