ON MUSIC.
Descend, my muse, on airy wings sublime,
With stile exalted, and majestic thought;
Bright fancy bring, with easy wit, to trace
With solid judgment, link'd with care, the praise
Of Music. Your aid, bright Goddess, lend, with
Ev'ry stroke harmonious; strike the ear
With melody of sound, its worth to tell.
