Milan, Nov. 8. The marshal de Villars is arrived here. The
day the general opened the trenches before the citadel, he
gave a fine ball to the ladies, and sent a trumpeter to the
garrison to invite them to be of the party; but the marshall
de Visconti was so cross, he would not let the officers
come: And we fancy the old gentleman must change his
address for all the fiddles in Italy will scarce subdue a
fortress, the governor of which is resolved to hold out till
he dies, and has accordingly made his will, and settled his
affairs.
