celebration of the marriage of the Prince of Orange with the
British Princess Royal.]
About 6 o'clock the gentlemen all arrived safe in town,
and His Excellency went to Mr. Lutwyche's Great Room in
King-Street, where His Excellency had ordered a fine ball
for the entertainment of a great number of polite gentlemen
and ladies; but the officers and other gentlemen who had
attended His Excellency to the Castle, being invited by
Colonel Wendell to his seat in School-Street, they went
directly thither, and made a most gallant appearance, having
6 drums and 2 trumpets before them . . .
At six o'clock in the morning all the bells in the town
began to ring and continued ringing till night without
