Mentz, Aug. 17. Yesterday afternoon two parties of Imperial
Hussars brought hither a large booty, viz. a waggon with 3
horses full of guns and swords, another laden with cloaths,
40 led horses, 3 mules laden with a service of silver plate,
and a waggon with wine; there is scarce a hussar who is
without a French bayonet, or sword by his side, a French hat
and white cockade in it. They also took two drums, which
beat before them on their entering this place. The whole
booty taken by them is computed at 20,000 rix dollars value.
This day came hither a French trumpeter, to get restored the
silver service, belonging to a Prince of the blood.
