London . . . Oct. 7 . . . Our accounts relating to the late
battle in Italy still continue to differ greatly; from Paris
we are told that the Marshal de Bregijo has beat and
defeated the Imperial Army. The combat lasted from ten in
the morning till five at night. Standards, kettle drums,
colours, and cannon taken. Five of the Emperor's Generals
killed; of whom, the Prince of Wittembourg, they say, is
one. The field of battle was so covered with dead bodies
for two or three leagues, so that they could hardly set
their feet on the ground. Their troops are in pursuit of
the enemy. . . [2 more paras., the second from the Imperial
Camp side.]
