Vienna, Feb 5. We learn by way of Rome, that the Prince of
Lobkowitz, Governor of the Citadel of Messina, having
desired of the burghers a supply of provisions, which they
disdainfully refused, he threw five bombs into different
parts of the city, which so terrified them, that they
immediately complied with what he desired. The inhabitants,
for their diversion, having erected a theatre at some
distance from the city, for operas, the Prince threw a bomb
into it, which put them in great consternation, and spoiled
their musical entertainment.
