Bryony Griffith & Alice Jones + Heartwood Chorus

December 19 at 7:30 pm10:00 pm GMT
£12 – £30
Live to Your Living Room

We’re delighted to welcome, in collaboration with the wonderful Downend Folk and Roots, Yorkshire folk duo Bryony Griffith and Alice Jones.

Enjoy a festive collection of traditional winter tunes from their 2023 Christmas album Wesselbobs, including unique and memorable local versions of the classics we all know and love.

Fun fact: A wesselbob, or wassail-bob, is a decorated evergreen bough built around a spherical frame, carried by carol singers (or wassailers) in the 19th Century.

What to expect: A richly curated collection of seasonal songs demonstrating the beautiful heritage of Yorkshire folk, alongside lots of Northern banter and fun!

About the Artists

Hailing from West Yorkshire, Bryony Griffith and Alice Jones have always been fascinated by regional folk music.

Coming together as a duo in 2019, the critically acclaimed pair combine fiddle, harmonium, and tenor guitar with intricate vocals, as well as wit, humour, and an encyclopaedic knowledge of local folk songs.

Straight up, beautiful and bold folk singing – Mark Radcliffe

About the Gig

This event will be held live on Zoom, with a remote sound engineer for high-quality sound. Our gigs allow interaction between artists and audiences, so the artist can hear you applaud and you can even have the chance to ask them any burning questions.

Tickets are £18, with the option to pay a bit less (£12) or a bit more (£30) depending on what is affordable for you. You only need one ticket per household.
