Katie Spencer
October 1 at 8:00 pm–10:00 pm BST
£12 – £30
As part of our autumn programme, Katie Spencer will be performing an intimate and heartfelt show to carry you into the evening.
With songs from The Edge of the Land and Weather Beaten, this gig will showcase Katie’s exquisite guitar playing as well as her introspective lyrics.
What to expect: Beautiful, sincere, captivating guitar playing from a songwriter dedicated to the art, shaped by musicians including Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, and Michael Chapman.
About the Artist
A world-class progressive folk guitarist, Katie is influenced by the idealism and warmth of the early 70s folk and songwriter movement, inspired by the verdant East Yorkshire countryside she grew up in.
A veteran of festivals including Celtic Connections and the Cambridge Folk Festival, Katie has toured extensively overseas and has performed with virtuoso double bassist Danny Thompson and veteran performer Alan Thomson.
“Her articulate picking, with suggestions of folk and jazz, frames intelligently written songs and is the backbone to her music.” – Guitarist Magazine
