Peggy Seeger – 90th birthday final tour

May 26 at 8:00 pm10:00 pm BST

£12 – £30
Live to Your Living Room

This hybrid gig is being livestreamed from Cubley Hall in Penistone. Sadly tickets to watch it in person have SOLD OUT.

We’re absolutely delighted to welcome folk royalty Peggy Seeger to the Live to Your Living Room Stage. Playing since the 1950s, Peggy was the co-founder of The Critics Group alongside Ewan MacColl, an instigator of the 1960s British folk revival, and has released 25 solo albums.

This is Peggy Seeger’s last ever tour, so don’t miss the opportunity to see the grande dame of British-American folk music from the comfort of your own home.

What to expect: A joyful celebration of over 75 years in music, covering new songs from Peggy’s latest album Teleology, as well as much-loved classics.

As Peggy performs with sons Neill and Calum MacColl, expect whip-smart humour, beautiful harmonies, and world-class musicianship, alongside friendly banter and lots of audience participation!

About the artist

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Peggy Seeger is a woman who has passionately and unapologetically followed her own path for over seven decades.

As well as being the partner and muse of Ewan MacColl (and the inspiration for The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face), she is a writer of political, social and feminist anthems including I’m Gonna Be an Engineer.

A trailblazer, both in her musical life and in her fiercely independent spirit – Evening Standard

Peggy’s a vital presence, ready with a quip or a homily… Through their warmth, unity, and ease of communication, she and her sons reaffirm folk song’s status as the bringer of news and its ability to address any issue – The Times

About the gig

This event will be held live on Zoom, with a remote sound engineer for high-quality sound. Our gigs allow interaction between artists and audiences, so the artist can hear you applaud and you can even have the chance to ask them any burning questions.

Tickets are £18, with the option to pay a bit less (£12) or a bit more (£30) depending on what is affordable for you. You only need one ticket per household.
