Martin Simpson, Andy Cutting, and Nancy Kerr are coming back together to play a short run of shows, celebrating the tenth anniversary of the release of Murmurs.

Enjoy one of the best folk albums of recent years, live from the comfort of your living room.

What to expect: There’s so much delight in watching these exceptional folk musicians play solo, so imagine the joy of watching all three play together!

Expect a diverse collection of original and traditional songs played by three highly intuitive and talented artists.

About the artists

One of the finest folk singers, guitarists, and songwriters England has to offer, award-winning Martin Simpson’s music reflects a wide range of eclectic and international styles.

Known as one of the world’s finest fingerstyle players, Martin is an accomplished solo musician and has also worked with June Tabor, Dom Flemons, and Wu Man.

Award-winning Nancy Kerr is a renowned fiddle player and songwriter, covering themes including love, conflict, motherhood, and hardship.

Coming to prominence in a partnership with fellow fiddle player Eliza Carthy, Nancy Kerr has performed with James Fagan, Leon Rosselson, and Sandra Kerr, and tours with The Sweet Visitor Band.

Nancy Kerr’s songs are unusual, intriguing. Steeped in folksong, she nonetheless breaks out of the mould, coming sideways to her subject, embroidering it with detail and surprises until the focus of the song comes clear – Peggy Seeger

Melodeon player Andy Cutting is a three-time winner of Folk Musician of the Year, taking his influences not only from English folk, but the French and Quebecois tradition.

Andy is well-known for his collaborations with other bands and musicians, including Blowzabella, Fernhill, 1651, and the Kate Rusby Trio.

About the Gig

This hybrid gig is being livestreamed in partnership with Live At Sam´s. You can go along to the gig in person at St Andrews Church, Psalter Lane Sheffield S11 8YL, or watch online from wherever you are. This event will be held live on Zoom, with a remote sound engineer for high-quality sound. Our gigs allow interaction between artists and audiences, so the artist can hear you applaud and you can even have the chance to ask them any burning questions.

Tickets are £18, with the option to pay a bit less (£12) or a bit more (£30) depending on what is affordable for you. You only need one ticket per household.
