2025 CDSS Lifetime Contribution Award Celebration: Tony Parkes

You’re invited to a celebration honoring Tony Parkes!
A renowned caller of contras and squares for more than 50 years, choreographer, musician, band leader, textbook author, workshop leader, dance historian, and organizer, Tony was widely recognized as a preeminent traditional New England dance caller at the time of his death.
This event is open to all—registration not required. Masks are optional.
4:00 – Square dancing to Tony’s recorded calling (role terms: gents/ladies)
5:30 – Lifetime Contribution Award presentation
6:00 – Potluck supper and socializing
7:30 – Contras and squares with callers Annie Kidwell, Ben Sachs-Hamilton, and Lisa Greenleaf and music by Stove Dragon (role terms: larks/robins)
Admission for the afternoon events is free.
Admission to the evening dance is on a sliding scale: $10, $15, or $20.
