The University of New Hampshire Library in Durham, NH, maintains two collections related to CDSS. These materials are available for researchers.
The CDSS Library collection preserves published and recorded materials for the purpose of promoting traditional forms of English and American folk dance and song. The collection currently has nearly 3,000 books, 400 periodicals, pamphlets and sheet music, and close to 2000 recordings, both from CDSS and other sources, available for use. You can find and search the collection online.
The CDSS Archives are held in the Milne Special Collections & Archives at UNH. The collection contains 64 boxes of manuscripts, personal papers of individuals prominent in the teaching and collection of American traditional dances and songs, microfiche recordings, and archival materials dating from CDSS’s founding in 1915. This guide describes the collection and its contents in detail.
