Maz O’Connor

We’re delighted to welcome Maz O’Connor to the Live to your Living Room stage as part of our spring programme of music.
Maz will be sharing songs from her upcoming album Love It Is a Killing Thing, as well as stunning music from over a decade in the folk world.
What to expect: Maz O’Connor doesn’t sing songs—she tells stories.
Expect beautiful music inspired by literature, folklore and mythology, combined with hauntingly emotive vocals and modern, experimental influences.
About the artist
Hailing from Cumbria, Maz O’Connor grew up singing folk songs in local venues. She won a BBC Performing Arts Fund Fellowship in 2014 (once won by Adele) and later that year was nominated for a BBC Folk Award for her first album, This Willowed Light.
Since then Maz has released three further albums, toured the world, and has written the folk musical, The Wife of Michael Cleary – the true story of Bridget Cleary, an Irish dressmaker who was murdered because her family believed she was a fairy changeling.

About the gig
This event will be held live on Zoom, with a remote sound engineer for high-quality sound. Our gigs allow interaction between artists and audiences, so the artist can hear you applaud and you can even have the chance to ask them any burning questions.
Tickets are £18, with the option to pay a bit less (£12) or a bit more (£30) depending on what is affordable for you. You only need one ticket per household.
