Salem’s First Thursday Contra Dance

Our Salem First Thursdays dances are very welcoming to both new and experienced dancers. We always dance to live music and callers come from around our area. All dances are taught and no partner needed. We strive for gender-neutral dances using the terms Lark and Robins. However, for the benefit of the less experienced dancers, we ask all the Larks (traditionally referred to as gents) to wear the provided blue ribbons. The VFW Hall has a lovely wooden dance floor.

• Beginner workshop starts at 6pm
• Admission on a sliding scale
• Water only allowed in the hall
