Salary Range: $30,000-$33,000, depending on experience
Benefits: Eligible for 403b & paid time off (PTO); MA residents are eligible for health insurance through CDSS

Position Overview

The Country Dance & Song Society (CDSS) is seeking a strong relationship builder with excellent communication and organizational skills to fill our new Affiliate Coordinator (AC) role. We believe that building a strong and thriving network of Affiliate organizations is critical to nurturing and stewarding the living traditions we love. The AC will be an important new part of our Programs Department, coordinating and administering our services to Affiliates and creating programming and resources specific to Affiliate needs.

The AC’s primary responsibility is to support and serve groups that affiliate with CDSS. This includes administering our existing affiliation, insurance, and 501(c)(3) services, developing and curating useful resources for organizers, and administering new programs to help CDSS Affiliate groups thrive, grow, and overcome obstacles.

Internally, the AC is responsible for managing all data in our database related to affiliate groups, creating clear and useful communications, and advocating for affiliate needs on internal teams and initiatives. They will also convene the Community Grants review team and administer those awards accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:

Affiliation Services

  • Manage, maintain, and report on data related to our affiliate network
  • Create and monitor annual goals for Affiliate services
  • Oversee all aspects of affiliate renewals, including communications, updates to application form, providing orientations information, tracking data, and responding to questions throughout the year
  • Curate and update online resources for Affiliates and organizers, identifying gaps and ways to fill them

501(c)(3) Program

  • Oversee 501(c)(3) program, including provision of information, and collecting and reporting on participant data as required

Insurance

  • Oversee annual renewal activities for Affiliates and Callers
  • Provide timely responses to requests for coverage and information.
  • Liaise with insurance company
  • Maintain up-to-date information on website

Programming for Affiliates

  • Design and coordinate 2-4 online programs per year that meet Affiliate needs, provide information, or facilitate peer-to-peer learning
  • Collaborate with Affiliate groups to pilot in-person regional networking and training opportunities
  • Assist Director of Programs in evaluation of online and in-person programs

Community Grants

  • Coordinate the CDSS Community Grants program by convening the internal Grants Review Team, administering the awards, communicating with recipients, and tracking data on recipients and outcomes

Overarching/other duties

  • Coordinate with Marketing Manager to promote all resources and programs available to Affiliates
  • Provide reports and information on annual activities related to Affiliate programs and grants
  • Liaise with any board task groups related to Affiliate support and outreach, providing operational information and coordinate projects efforts as needed

Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated and able to move work forward independently
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated success in coordinating teams or projects
  • Experience as an organizer of community events (preferred)
  • Knowledge of and personal experience with English and American country dance, music, and song, or parallels (preferred)
  • Clear, proactive, and professional communication habits, both internally and externally
  • Well organized

Technology Experience:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Google Docs
  • Zoom or other web meeting platform
  • Salesforce or other CRM (preferred)

Availability:

  • Able to set and adhere to a set of regularly scheduled work hours
  • Flexibility to work extended or different hours on occasion (rare)
  • If not located near Easthampton, MA:
    • Ability to work from home with minimal distraction (equipment provided as necessary)
    • Willingness to travel to CDSS home office in Easthampton, MA, twice/year (travel expenses covered)
